Hi Everyone,
Sorry this has taken so long to update. I didn't do it the week that we didn't have games, and then i completely forgot about doing it! Since the last post we have had 4 games. One of the weekends was a road trip down to University of Connecticut where we lost on Saturday. On Sunday then, we travelled to Northeastern University and played there. We lost also, 4-1. Both games were well played and we were pretty close. We weren't able to capitalize on the opportunities given and also got a lot of penalties which was where the other team scored most of their goals.
The next weekend (this weekend) we played University of New Hampshire on Friday. We played a lot better than we have before, but they were able to get 4 goals in about 3 minutes in the first period becuase of a few 5 on 3 situations when we were in the penalty box (me being one of them... oops!). So we lost 7-1, but we still had a good attitude because it was one of the better games that we had played so far. We had the day mostly off on Saturday. We skated in the morning and did a clinic for the younger girls in the area. On Sunday we played Boston College (BC). We were really excited to play them because we were just coming off of playing a good game against UNH, and we knew there was a good amount of people coming to watch (especially younger kids becuase there was an autograph session after). We came out flying and it payed off. The refs were letting a lot of things go, which was nice because we could play physical but clean and not have to whistle blow every 30 seconds and getting powerplays. We scored the first goal at the end of the first period and everyone went crazy. I got an assist for it too. At the end of the second it was 3-1 (us) so now we had to concntrate on not getting scored on. In the third they got a 5-3 when I and another teammate was put in the box. They scored before the first penalty was up, so they still had a man advantage. Ten seconds later, they scored again tying it up 3-3. We responded quickly though, and then held them off. We scored 2 more goals after theirs and won the game 5-3. This was a huge win for us becuase it gave us 2 points in our league and gave us confidence that we could beat big teams. BC is ranked #1 in HockeyEast and #5 in the nation. This week is a little bit of an easy week becuase we don't have games this weekend. We go on the road next week though on Tuesday to play University of Vermont in Lewiston, ME. Then after that we head to Pennsylvania to play Robert Morris for Thanksgiving weekend. My parents are flying down, so that will be nice to see them again. After Thanksgiving its only 2 1/2 more weeks and then I'm home!!
Love to all!
