Minnesota Weekend

This past weekend the team travelled to Minnesota and played Minnesota State University at Mankato. This was one of the schools that I was seriously looking at, but it didn't end up working out. This is also the school that my Coach (Lichterman) was an assistant coach before coming to Maine. I think going into the weekend, we all wanted to win really bad, and though coach never said this, but because it was his old school.
My parents were able to come to the games too, so that was very nice to see them. We played on Friday night and it was a very close game. We were tied 2-2 going into the 3rd period. The final was 5-2, but the score didnt reflect how we played. It was better than the week before which is what we are trying for.
Saturdays game didn't go as well. We lost 4-0 and weren't playing very well until the 3rd period when we came out flying because we didn't want to leave Minnesota just letting them walk all over us. During that game though, we had 2 players get hurt. One got a really bad concussion after a collision and another hurt her knee (she had knee problems already too). Hopefully they will be back in the line up soon.
Fall break was this weekend, so Monday and Tuesday we had off of school. We still had hockey, but it was a nice break from studies. Classes are going well still. We have a few tests next week and a paper due so we are starting to get ready for a busy week, but I have been mostly caught up. Also, in a week and a half, the student athletes are going to be able to register for classes. I am really excited about that, because we get to choose our schedule and what times we want our classes to be at.
Monday was the Canadian Thanksgiving and since 15 (out of 20) of our team is Canadian, we all got together at a teammates appartment and had dinner. We cooked a turkey, and there was stuffing, cornbread, vegtables, mashed potatoes, bread, and many different kinds of desserts (it was also a few girls' birthdays, so we celebrated those too). Since we are gone on the American Thanksgiving, it was nice to have a home cooked meal for "Thanksgiving".
I hope everyone is doing well at home. Let more people know about this. Family and friends are able to read this, I just don't have that many people's email addresses to let everyone know about it. Love to all,
Ashley
