Sacred Heart Weekend

Hey everyone,
This weekend we played Sacred Heart. We weren't really expecting them to be amazing, but we were still ready to put a fight and play to the best of our ability. The series was a Friday/Saturday series. Friday we were winning for a while, but we got a few bad calls for penalties, and they capitalized on their opportunities. We lost 3-2, which was a really hard loss because we didn't play particularly bad, just didn't have more drive than they did.
Saturday was a different story. We were determined to get back at them, to show that we had more drive and wanted it just as bad and they did. We came out flying. It was like a whole different team. We were passing well and getting a lot of shots off. We won 11-1. Our freshman goalie, who I went to NAHA with was in net for the first time and she had a really good game. A lot of our freshman got their first goals and one girl (a sophomore) got a hat trick. We were much happier with how we played on Saturday.
This week has been a bit stressful so far, because I have two tests and a paper due. This is also our first weekend that will count for Hockey East, which is the conference/league that we are in. We play Boston University on Saturday and Providence College on Sunday. We leave Friday afternoon for Boston. Also, this week we are starting to pick our classes out for next semester, which has been a bit stressful. I hope everything is going well in Fairbanks! It's supposed to snow here somewhat soon, so I am getting excited about that!
Love to all,
Ashley
